I was in Staten Island for a golf tournament so I needed to stop by this place because I am never in Staten Island. Dave Portnoy gave this place an 8.6, which he says you need to travel to try it. But it is hard to get motivated to drive all the way to SI, over the Verrazano for pizza. They have limited seating in the pizza side but have a bunch of tables for wait service. We say pizza side. My friend and I ordered a small pie, which is 6 medium to smallish size slices. The crust is super thin so I think we could have finished off a large pie although if we did, we would not have been able to hit Donut World (review to come) down the street. As Portnoy said, the crust is super thin and crispy! It is also pretty saucy, so if you are a cheese person, then may not be for you. Really enjoyed it! Ish there was a place like this on Long Island! PS - This review is obviously only for their pizza. I assume the 3.5 stars by other Yelpers is for the rest of their menu. POST post uodate: Initially I gave 5 stars but in reality, more like 4-4.5 stars because I would have liked a little salt in the crust. So I changed to 4 stars.

I have eaten in and ordered takeout from this restaurant. The wait was only about 15 months bites for a table and the waitress was very nice. She made suggestions that we tried and were delicious. We order take out as welll. The pizza was very tasty and usually arrived within 1/2 hour. We especially like the grandma's pie and the square pie!!!

Old-school place, great prices. They have pizza by the slice and gluten free (not pictured)! Pizza was good but insanely greasy. Buffalo chicken roll tasted better than it looked but nothing too memorable

Criminal that Joe & Pat's has 3.5 stars on Yelp. I had good memories of their pizza growing up and the food still holds! Mozzarella sticks - I slammed most of these. God, delicious! Calamari - Still tasty and crunchy! Pizza - we got a large pie with half pepperoni and half margarita. Probably not the BEST pizza I've had TBH - the bar is high in New York! - but very very good overall. Our server was totally nice and handled my boomer relatives with grace. I just love Joe & Pat's, they probably don't need it, but they totally deserve a better Yelp rating.

Lives up to the hype. Every slice is sensational. Incredibly light and thin, nice crisp crust. Service was tremendous. Calamari marinara is a true sleeper

Randomly stopped in here one day after hearing many good reviews from people and this place did not disappoint. They had a very nice dining room and the service was excellent. The food came out super quick and was delicious. Overall highly recommend this place! What we ordered: Wings($12): the wings were so crispy and the flavor was perfect. Best wings yet Royal Pizza($24): you can replace the toppings to other toppings on the list, we changed the mushroom and anchovies to tomato and ham and the pizza was so thin and crispy. It was perfect and there was so much toppings on it! Chicken Tortellini Soup ($5): they have different sizes and I got the cup was pretty small but was very flavorful and unique. Lentil Soup ($5): was different from other lentil soups I have, the presentation was not too appealing but do not let that fool you! It was very very good. If you like veggie soups it is definitely for you Meatball App ($8): this is the only thing I would skip... they gave only two meatball with bread and ricotta but the meatball flavoring was not too great.

Everything about this pizza was spot on. The tomato sauce had good flavor and was not bland. The pizza was thin which is the way I like it. The only thing was that it was a little floppy. Wish it was cooked 5 more minutes... other than that it was delicious. It is a must try in the area. Reminds of Rubirosa a little. Good stuff.

So came to visit Staten Island to look at a college, decided to stop based on Dave Pourtney (the pizza guys recommendations). They have 2 sides one looks like just pizza and the other looks like meals. Young crowd working begins the counter. And alot of plating around behind the counter. The manager/owner or who ever he was some what rude to the staff and then the girl at the register started yelling at the staff. The pizza was very thin, I could have used it a little more well done. The sauce had a nice flavor and the pizza was perfectly sauced. The cheese you can tell is not cheap, nice flavor and nicely melted across the board. Overall it was a very solid pie.
